Benefits of Disney Hotels
The best part about staying in a Disney World hotel is access to complimentary transportation to the theme parks. Every Disney hotel has a pool, which is great for taking a break from the theme parks on hot Florida days. If swimming is a must for you, we can help you determine which resort has the best swimming features such as number of pools, splash zones, and waterslides.
- All Disney hotels have a gift shop to buy Disney souvenirs for yourself or friends back home. Some of them even have merchandise specific to the hotel you’re staying at, such as a picture frame or Christmas ornament. These shops also sell necessities you may need during your stay. Most hotels sell Advil and Tylenol, Claritin, sunblock, and more.
- You’ll have dining options on-site in the form of food courts, cafes, table-service restaurants, or all three! This can be helpful if you would prefer to eat breakfast before heading into the theme parks or need a snack after a long day in the parks.
- At every Disney hotel, you can expect complimentary overnight parking, laundry facilities, free WiFi, and housekeeping services. Each hotel hosts Movies Under the Stars where you can enjoy a Disney film located near one of the pools or a large grassy area.
- Many Disney hotels also host nightly campfires with complimentary marshmallows for roasting.
Types of Disney Hotels
Disney hotels are broken down into three categories: value, moderate, and deluxe. All of them offer the benefits mentioned above, but they vary in price, size, and detail of theming.
Value Resorts
Value resorts are the most affordable option. Every room has one or two queen-sized beds and the room size will typically be on the smaller side unless you book a family suite. All the value resorts have one or two pools, as well as a food court that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
They’re not anything luxurious, but they are perfect for people who just want a place to sleep after spending most of their day in one of the theme parks. The theming of these hotels is fun and over-the-top as opposed to the more sophisticated theming of the moderate and deluxe hotels.
Disney’s Value Resorts Are:
● Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
● Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
● Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort
● Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
● Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Moderate Resorts
Moderate hotels are a step up from value hotels but not quite as expensive as the value resorts. They also have at least one swimming pool, but offer more in terms of dining. All of the moderate hotels have a food court, and all but the French Quarter have at least one table-service restaurant that matches the theming of the hotel.
Disney’s Moderate Resorts Are:
● Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
● Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
● Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
● The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
● Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Deluxe Resorts
For those willing to spend more money on hotels, a deluxe may be worth the splurge. These are the most expensive hotels on Disney property. They have more detailed theming than a value hotel, as well as numerous dining options. Not only are there more options for food, but the restaurants at these resorts have higher quality food compared to the food courts of the value resorts.
These resorts may have more options for transportation to the parks such as water taxis, monorails, or even a short walking trail.
For the higher price per night, the rooms are much nicer in the deluxe resorts and some even include private balconies or patios. Unlike most of the value and moderate hotels, the door to your hotel room is located inside a hallway rather than on the outside of the building in the style of a motel.
Disney’s Deluxe Resorts Are:
● Disney’s Beach Club Resort
● Disney’s Contemporary Resort
● Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
● Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
● Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
● Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
● Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
● Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Deluxe Villa Resorts
There is technically a fourth category of accommodations: the deluxe villa resorts. These multi-room villas are designed to make you feel at home with their own built-in kitchen, washer and dryer, and dining areas. They are meant for Disney Vacation Club members, but you don’t need to buy a timeshare with Disney in order to stay at one of these resorts.
If you’re interested in a longer Disney stay, the convenience of a deluxe villa may be perfect for you. We can help you with booking a villa without needing to purchase a DVC membership.
Disney’s Deluxe Villa Resorts Are:
● Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas
● Disney’s Riviera Resort
● The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
● Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
● Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
● Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
● Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
● Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
● Disney’s Old Key West Resort
● Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
● Disney’s Beach Club Villas
Good Neighbor Hotels
Another option is staying off Disney property at a Good Neighbor Hotel. These hotels are not considered Disney resorts, but they partner with Disney to offer special benefits. The major benefit of Good Neighbor Hotels is that they are more affordable than staying on property. These hotels will even let you book a package that includes your room and theme park tickets, just like a Disney hotel!
Many have transportation to the theme parks, though there may be additional fees. All of these hotels also have a guest services desk to help with Disney World vacation planning.
Disney has plenty of offerings for you to stay on property and there is no such thing as a bad Disney hotel. What works for one family may not work for another, so let us help you find the perfect Disney resort to ensure you have the vacation of your dreams.
