Top 5 Disney World Hotels

When booking a hotel on the Walt Disney World Resort property, you have over 30 options to choose from. They have hotels for everyone, from affordable value hotels to luxurious deluxe resorts. We’ve put together a list of the top 5 Disney World hotels and what makes them some of our favorite places to stay during our Disney vacations. If you’re interested in booking a stay at any of these resorts, we can help you make your reservation for your next Disney vacation.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the most unique resorts in the Orlando area. From the lobby to your room, you’ll be surrounded by African-inspired decor.

The highlight of this hotel is the fact that it has 4 savannas filled with beautiful wildlife. You can request a room with views of giraffes, zebras, gazelle, and more. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to over 30 species of African wildlife.

This resort has two gorgeous pools, the Uzima Springs Pool and the Samawati Springs Pool. The Uzimi pool will make you feel as though you’ve stepped into your own personal tropical oasis, surrounded by large canopy trees. This pool has a gently sloped entry to mimic a beach, as well as a 67-foot-long water slide that both kids and adults will enjoy. Feeling hungry? There is a nearby lounge and bar for you to grab a poolside snack or beverage. The Samawati Springs pool is a little smaller but has a 128-foot waterslide and zero-depth entry. This pool also features a nearby bar and lounge.

If you’re a lover of animals and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, this is the best resort for you. Even if you don’t book a room with a savanna view, you can still enjoy the sight of these beautiful creatures from the on-site restaurants and viewing areas.

Wilderness Lodge

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is perfect for guests who want to appreciate the great outdoors while also enjoying the comforts of a luxurious hotel room. This resort is inspired by the National Park lodges of America’s Great Northwest. It is a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom, and if you’re willing to pay a little more for a room, you can even get a fireworks view to enjoy Disney’s Happily Ever After from the comfort of your own window.

During downtime, you can take a dip in one of two relaxing pools. The Copper Creek Springs pool is a beautiful pool surrounded by nature with a 67-foot water slide built into the surrounding rocks. You’ll feel as though you’re swimming in nature while enjoying the comforts of a heated pool. This swimming area also has both hot and cold whirlpool spas to relax in.

The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool offers a zero-depth entry and offers a quieter swimming experience, as most children prefer the exciting water slide of the Copper Creek Springs.

For those who want a relaxing breath of fresh air during the chaos of a Disney World vacation, the Wilderness Lodge is an excellent choice.

Polynesian Village

This resort is a celebration of the spirit of the South Pacific with its tropical decor and vegetation. This is one of Disney World’s original hotels and has been a favorite among guests ever since its opening in 1971. Over the past few years, the Polynesian has gone through a couple of renovations to keep it from feeling outdated.

The Polynesian has the Lava Pool with a volcano, waterfall, and 142-foot-long water slide, as well as a more relaxing and tranquil Oasis pool.

To get to the theme parks, you can take the monorail, a water taxi, or a bus, depending on which park you’re planning to visit.

Guests who love the tropics and beautiful sunrises over a beach won’t regret booking a stay at Disney’s Polynesian.

Port Orleans – French Quarter

This moderate resort has beautiful theming that will make you feel as though you’ve stepped onto the cobblestone streets of New Orleans. This resort’s decor takes inspiration from the bright and lively colors and sounds of Mardi Gras.

When staying at the French Quarter, you are able to enjoy the hotel pools, as well as the pools of its sister hotel, Port Orleans – Riverside. Doubloon Lagoon is a Madri Gras-themed pool with a 51-foot-long slide designed to look like a sea serpent. Over at the Ol’ Man Island pool, you can enjoy a 95-foot water slide, a whirlpool spa, and a kiddie pool.

One of the highlights of French Quarter is the Mickey Beignets, a fluffy and delicious Disney-themed snack that can’t be found at any other hotel! While anyone can visit the restaurants at Disney hotels, it’s much more of a convenience to be able to enjoy this sugary snack as you make your way to the pool or back to your hotel room.

Families who love New Orleans and celebrating with friends will have a fantastic time at Disney’s French Quarter.

Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has many offerings that make it one of our top 5 Disney hotels. This lakeside hotel is covered with beautiful nautical decor.

The major highlight of Disney’s Yacht Club is that it has what many people would claim is the best pool on Disney property. Stormalong Bay is a 750,000-gallon pool that will make you feel as though you’ve just arrived at the beach! You can explore the life-size shipwreck replica or slide down one of the tallest waterslides of any Disney hotel. There are 3 whirlpool spas so you don’t need to worry about them feeling overly crowded. The true gem of this pool is that it has a sandy bottom and a lazy river. If you’re planning on spending some days away from the theme parks during your next Disney stay, this hotel is perfect for spending a day by the pool.

When it comes to visiting the theme parks, the Yacht Club is very conveniently located. It is within walking distance from EPCOT and only a relaxing boat ride away from Hollywood Studios. As is the case with all Disney hotels, you can take a bus to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
