Magic Kingdom Overview

Magic Kingdom was the first park to open in Walt Disney World and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. This park is home to some of the most iconic rides, as well as the beloved Happily Ever After Fireworks show. For those who are making a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disney, this is the park to visit for the true Disney experience.

Cinderella’s Castle

The icon of Magic Kingdom is the most recognizable and iconic of all: Cinderella’s Castle. This 189-foot-tall castle represents not only the theme park but the Walt Disney Company as well. As you walk down Main Street towards this structure, you’ll pass numerous Disney photographers to help you capture a moment to remember your trip by. If the first line is long, keep on walking. It is likely you’ll pass by a cast member with a shorter wait.

Explore Different Themed Lands

Magic Kingdom is divided into multiple lands, all themed with different rides and attractions. The hub is located right in front of Cinderella’s castle, which branches off into all five lands. Main Street U.S.A. is the path you take to enter the park and is filled with old-school buildings reminiscent of the small towns of America that inspired Walt’s image of the original Disneyland in California.

If you start your Disney day by going to the left, you’ll come across three different lands. Adventureland is home to pirates and wild jungles, as well as some of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions. Frontierland is inspired by the Wild West and hosts the famous Big Thunder Mountain Railroad coaster. Liberty Square is a celebration of America’s foundation and is where you can experience the Hall of Presidents attraction.

The most whimsical of all is Fantasyland, full of classic dark rides such as Peter Pan’s Flight and “It’s a Small World.” And last but not least is Tomorrowland, featuring Disney World’s newest roller coaster, TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Travel Through Whimiscal and Magical Rides

Magic Kingdom is where you’ll find some of the most famous rides and attractions. When people think of Disney World, the Cinderella Castle and Magic Kingdom are typically what will come to mind. This is where most of the iconic rides are, such as Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and “It’s a Small World.”

With so many major rides, a travel agent can be beneficial in making sure that you don’t spend your entire day in this park waiting in long lines.

With the Florida sun always making days in the parks hot and humid, it’s a great idea to take advantage of some of Magic Kingdom’s indoor entertainment. The Country Bear Jamboree is a perfect place to sit and enjoy some air conditioning for about 16 minutes, plus it’s a fun show that kids will enjoy.

If people in your party or family are fans of the characters, Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade is the perfect place to see your favorite princess or Disney character without having to wait in a long line. This parade has fun music, colorful floats, and features most of the Disney princesses!

At night, the Happily Ever After Fireworks fill the sky with color, light, and lasers for a magical once-in-a-lifetime experience. This fireworks display is one of the best parts of a Disney vacation. While some people like to line up in front of the castle early, dining packages are offered so that you can relax with a prime viewing spot before enjoying a delicious selection of desserts.

With all of these entertainment options, we’re happy to talk with you about how to best schedule your day to make sure there’s time for everything.
